stefan andrei nazarevich

is a Ukrainian-Canadian musician, producer, and sound engineer. His compositions, performances, and installations utilize meticulous, architectural music production to turn emergent artifacts of failing technology into aesthetic sonic objects.

His visual album ARCMAPS (2023) explores retrofuturism and lo-fi glitches, described by Adbusters Magazine as “...casually dystopic [and] cinematic.”

A frequent interdisciplinary collaborator, Stefan has composed for Vision Impure, anya saugstad, shion skye carter, Wen Wei Dance, and FakeKnot, among others. Presentations of his music include VIDF (2019, 2021), Tangente  (Montreal 2021, 2023), MAI (Montreal 2021), and Darmstadt Ferienkurse (Germany, 2018).

in 2019, he co-founded the interdisciplinary duo olive theory with Shion Skye Carter, working at the intersection of installation and performance, blending known artforms to create brand new experiences.

audio is a prime trigger for memory, mood, and place.

From the crashing waves of a windswept shoreline, to that song that transports you back to a sunset tinged with the scent of incense smoke, or a road-trip memory of the dusty dashboard of your best friend’s car, music and sound colour your life.

no matter what form it takes, your art deserves a signature, unforgettable sound that lives in your audience’s ears forever.
